EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW

CURRICULUM & COURSE LENGTH

USJMI measures all of its programs in clock hours of instruction. A clock hour is defined as 50 minutes of instruction, or as 100 hours of practicum hours. The Early Childhood Education Program takes clock hours approximately 4 months for full-time students to complete for the total of 216 clock hours (9 class sessions per week, 1.5 hours per class session).

Administration of Child Care and Education Programs 3 units 21 hours
Early Childhood Practicum 3 units 80 hours
TOTAL UNITS/HOURS 18 units 216 hours

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

In order to graduate and receive the Early Childhood Education, Supervision & Administration Program Certificate, students must achieve the following:

    1. Quizzes following each unit of the curriculum must be passed
    2. Satisfaction of all financial obligations
    3. 85% or better program attendance record
    4. Program Director’s recommendation for graduation
    5. Pass final exam (oral and written) performed before completion of certificate course
